Doctorate

The Doctoral School NRW offers two options for pursuing a doctorate: a doctorate in a doctoral program at the Doctoral School NRW and a doctorate in cooperation with a university. Both approaches emphasize scientific work within the context of applied research.

Doctorate in a Doctoral Program

The aim of a doctoral program at the Doctoral School NRW is to complete the doctorate in a set time frame. Close supervision by a team of three supervisors ensures the successful progress of the doctoral project and supports individual preparation for a future career. The doctorate degree is awarded by the Doctoral School NRW.

Cooperative Doctorate

Supervision is provided both at the UAS and the cooperating university. The latter awards the doctoral degree. One of the main advantages of doing a cooperative doctorate is having access to and being supported by the respective networking structures both a UAS and a cooperating university offer to the doctoral candidate.

KISS is the administration platform of the Doctoral School NRW. Doctoral candidates and those interested in pursuing a doctorate at the Doctoral School NRW can use it to submit their applications for enrollment, admission or membership and manage their academic records.
